As a native North Carolinian, John Walker grew up in the northern foothills and in his youth was involved with the Boy Scouts of America.

John attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and after receiving a BA degree, he then was accepted to the University of North Carolina School of Law at Chapel Hill. Established in 1845, it is one of the oldest law schools in the United States and is the oldest law school in the state of North Carolina. John Walker graduated from the Law School with a Juris Doctor Degree (JD).

After receiving his law Degree, John Wallker entered into practice of law specializing in divorce and established his law practice in Charlotte NC.

In 2019, John Walker moved his law practice from Charlotte to Eden, NC. where Johns' son Chip, also known as John JR, manages the Eden office along side with Chips' spouse, Katrina.

In the near future, Attorney Raymond Burke of Burke & Assocites in Charlotte NC will be handling incoming divorce requests and John Walker will retire.
